You can't beat a good workout, a good sweat up it gets the juices flowing and the heart thumping, the adrenaline pulsing and the...ok, Im at risking of breaking in to some cheese laden poem so I'll stop there for now and stick to what I wanted to blog about.

A Greek social institution which was used for education and physical training of young people. Initially only used for sports, the institution of the gymnasium later evolved to become a center of learning. Curricula included music, sports, and literature. Most gymnasiums where open to boys and girls, however examples exist where attendance was limited to upper-class males

Interesting definition...

I visited a local gym today - cycling isn't cutting it, its too weather dependant and well, to be honest it's sort of boring lately. Either I need to get some virtual reality headset with road and obstruction monitors, red light, mad pedestrian, big chunky lorry detectors built in, or I do something else.

Duh , obviously I've decided to do something else, hence the local gym check it thing. £6 a visit, or £33 a month plus £25 admin fee, or sign up for a year at £27 per month direct debit and no admin fee.

I haven't trained properley for years which makes me sound like some kind of ancient rock thats sat in some corner somewhere suffering from reverse osmosis with sedimentay deposits, but anyway - so i goes in to this gym to check it out - running machines, running machines and running machines. I'm met by some utlra skin taut old dear who's obviously done one too many sunbeds but is seemingly fit enough and nice and friendly too. Even squeezed me bicep and smiled at me (oi oi could I be in with the granny club Im wondering) The 'club' had a nice enough feel to it too, so I'm sort of contemplating whether to goive it a week of £6 squids and see how I fair or just jump in with a bigger commitment and see if that ties me to it a little more.

Are you a memeber of a gym? Do you remember approaching it half arsedley? How did you approach it all? Are you still at it, or did you give it up as a bad job?

Motivation? Get fitter really.
