A random thought for today

by yackyack @ 2007-05-26 - 08:01:50

You may well know of a person who you care for somewhere who lately just gets on your nerves, rubs you up the wrong way, says mean things, acts in an offhand way. Don't get mad at them, don't shout at them, don't cut them off, don't push them away. You might just be all they have, you might well be the only person they feel that they can be like that with, they might be struggling with something deeply personal to them, they might just be reaching out to you hoping you can help or understand, they might find it all a little difficult so it comes out all the wrong way. Whatever it is, whoever they are if you really care you can make a difference, repair a rift, iron out a misunderstanding, swallow your pride and help them, 3 little words will make a difference, be they spoken or through deed - I and love and you.

Even two words will do the trick "I + Care".

Sometimes it's not easy to say "I love you". So often people say these three little words quite glibly thereby lessening the value of the phrase.

There a many people that I care about but a few people that I can honestly say I love.

Hope this makes sense and hope that it doesn't detract from the lovely sentiment in your posting.

I dunno - depends on how much you value them really and whether they are worth the effort to you.

Some people are just wayward tossers, family included.

When i wrote that - I think I was reflecting on a thing I was struggling with, and was trying to make sense of. I still havent made sense of it yet entirely and can't quite get them to communicate what the heart of the issue is, emotions can be difficult things to communicate. Pushing the issue didn't help, so for now, Ive decided to take a step back and just enquire generally and tell them I love them and let them know Im here if they need me - hopefully they'll settle and the anger will lessen.

Fighting them and getting mad back, wasn't solving a thing - one of us had to give.

Pride comes before a fall.
